Creativity

I have been pondering creativity. Creativity as defined by Wikipedia is a mental process involving the discovery of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the existing ideas or concepts, fueled by the process of either conscious or unconcious insight. Wow!

I find that the more time I spend around creative people the more creative I am. They are creative in so many ways. Some are artists, writers, and teachers. Others are personal trainers, health care professionals and small business owners. Each person is creative in their own way. I learn different things from each one on a daily basis.

I haven't been feeling very creative lately. I am going to try to take a little more time each day to reflect, and play a little bit more. Today as I was running errands I picked up a set of colored pencils. I hope they inspire my creative spirit!

Who in your life is creative? What is your creative inspiration?

My creativity muse has been all over the place of late. In the past couple of months since I registered for the 3 Day, my inspiration has been the belief that we will find a cure for breast cancer and the inspiration to help do something about it. My herbs are also growing beautifully right now and they inspire me to spend more time in nature, to honor the Earth, and to find more and more uses for these magical little plants.

I have been pondering creativity lately as well! I am two years fresh out of collage, and my creative spirit has never been stronger. I was very creative as a young child, and my parents always urged my "not to waste my talent". However, as school went on, my creativity slowly died. In high school, I had little desire to create or design. In college, I took art classes, but struggled with creating original ideas. After graduation my personality slowly adjusted back to normal, and my creativity came along with it. The more created, the more ideas I got. I would easily say I am the most creative of my family and friends, but not until recently. To me, school is a creativity killer. I am happy to have my creative heart back. I even dreamed about crafting all night last night, crazy? Thanks for the post Michelle!
