The Sounds Of Late Summer

Lately I have been listening to the sounds of late summer. I have turned off my stereo and my television. I am amazed at the sounds of late summer. In the morning the birds are active and communicating among themselves. The squirrels are busy with black walnuts. I can hear a few black walnuts falling from the tree in my backyard right now! The leaves on the trees are just starting to change color. It is amazing how different the leaves sound in the late summer. In the evening the sound of crickets fill my neighborhood!

I'm so glad I can hear all the sounds of late summer!

Gorgeous photo!

This is my first fall in Kentucky, and I'm already suffering through the early cold, but the leaves are starting to change and are stunning!!!

I've never been to Kentucky in the fall-only in the summer! Maybe in 2010 I can take a road trip in the fall!

Since you asked this question I have been listening more closely!
Mostly I have been hearing the leaves as they fall and then gently blow across the lawn. I can hear that every day as I work in my office! I'll keep listening...
